Fantail Network Courageous Conversations Pop-Up to give inspiration and thought provocation for women in business

Women from all walks of business will converge in Auckland on Tuesday 14 November to attend the Fantail Network’s Courageous Conversations Pop-Up Event, held at Southern Cross Health Society.

The fifth in a series of ground-breaking pop-up events created by the Fantail Network Trust, Courageous Conversations is designed to inspire real change in women’s lives by showcasing how three authentic and well-respected speakers tackled a courageous conversation in their own unique way. This pop-up is designed to build confidence expand thinking.

“We know that striving to be your best by knowing your potential and capacity IS real confidence. We want women to immerse themselves in this unique 2-hour panel-style pop-up event to listen to inspiring speakers while being stimulated by a few surprises.”

“Our goal is to ensure that women are engaged in expansive thinking and to have the ability to transform intentions into action and inventions into reality, to grow ideas, build confidence and networks, and be equipped to embrace change,” says Fantail Network Trust’s co-founder Jane Kennelly.

The Fantail Network Trust was established in 2014 to support, connect and enable women in business with a particular focus on technology, innovation and entrepreneurship. “We bring together diverse and innovative people who share a passion for business and who want to stretch their thinking,” adds Kennelly.

The Courageous Conversation pop-up speakers include Viv James, Founder, Race4Life Trust. Previously in education, James found herself working in the Palliative Care area with Mercy Hospice Auckland where she established the Opening Doors Programme which was designed to enhance the quality of life of people living with life limiting illness. It was here she discovered the true meaning of the motto ‘living every moment’. February 2015 saw a totally unexpected development via a diagnosis of Melanoma which led Viv to the subject of her Courageous Conversation and the launch of Race4Life Trust.

Other speakers include Diane Maxwell, Retirement Commissioner, Commission for Financial Capability. Many might think the issues that Diane grapples with are somewhat ‘subject matter dry’…but Diane’s impressive combination of innovation, humour, personal insights and attention-grabbing story-telling means she is one hot-ticket-item when it comes to speaking. Diane’s personal story is an inspiration.

Finally, Kerry Boielle, Head of Distribution, Southern Cross will take the stage to talk about how she has climbed the corporate ladder. Kerry’s open and engaging style is guaranteed to captivate!
