The world’s most advanced robotic commercial floor-cleaning machine, the Intellibot, has landed in New Zealand and could be coming to an airport, shopping mall or stadium near you.

The Intellibot can clean 10,000 square feet an hour, while also improving productivity and saving water and the use of chemicals.

The machines have been brought to New Zealand by OCS Limited, which has an international distribution agreement with the sole U.S. manufacturer, Intellibot Robotics. OCS has brought all three hands-free floor cleaning machines – the AeroBot®, HydroBot® and DuoBot® – to New Zealand.

OCS managing director James Fletcher says the company is focused on innovation and working with its customers to reduce problem areas by providing high-quality, reliable outcomes. He says with Intellibots, staff can push a button and literally walk away, enabling them to focus on cleaning areas that require more attention.

“The introduction of Intellibots is just one of the many changes OCS is working on to add value for our customers – we’re excited to bring these innovative machines to New Zealand,” says Mr Fletcher.

Each Intellibot is operated by an icon-based touchscreen, with remote assistance providing around-the-clock monitoring of machine cleaning activity including the instant identification of any problems which are alerted to service technicians. Most problems can be resolved remotely without the need for a service call.

The three different machines have various specialties. The AeroBot® is a vacuum for carpeted surfaces with powerful motors that lift embedded dirt. It is ideal for retail and hospitality spaces, offices or airports and can work a four-hour shift without needing to replace its bag.

The HydroBot®, a scrubber, and the DuoBot®, a sweeper and scrubber, are suitable for hard floors in the education, retail, healthcare or manufacturing industries. The systems improve cleaning consistency and reduce cleaning costs, using up to 85% less water and cleaning solution per eight-hour shift.

Mr Fletcher says the introduction of the Intellibots add to the OCS Total Facilities Management (TFM) offering, which means that everything from soft services such as cleaning, catering, pest control, refuse, security and valet parking, to hard services like plumbing, electrical, fire protection, building management and more, can be outsourced to a single provider.

“We often describe TFM as ‘if it’s not your core business – then it’s ours’, we can and will provide anything and everything our clients need,” says Mr Fletcher.

“Today’s operating environment is a challenge for every business, large or small. TFM allows those organisations to focus on what they do best – their core business – and leave everything else to us.

“We are a single provider which means companies are dealing with one company and one invoice. With the introduction of our new Intellibots, we can help further relieve the pressure of a challenging and busy operating environment.”
