Rockburn Wines – Central Otago Announces Robert Oatley Vineyards as Australian Distributor
Rockburn Wines is delighted to announce that Robert Oatley Vineyards will now distribute their wines nationally throughout Australia, effective immediately.

Robert Oatley Vineyards was set up by Robert Oatley; he is as famous for his wine as he is for sailing, with his Wild Oats series of super maxi yachts and as founder of the Rosemount wine brand.

Robert Oatley Vineyards is now a major force in the Australian wine industry and also distributes Charles Heidsdeck Champagne, with a national sales team of over 35 personnel.

Rockburn continues its phenomenal success on the international show circuit, winning a Gold Medal for its Rockburn 2012 Pinot Noir and a Trophy for its Tigermoth Riesling at the Cool Climate Wine Show last week in Australia.

‘’These results are testament to the dedication of the entire Rockburn team and the unique terroir of our vineyards in Parkburn and Gibbston” commented Rockburn General Manager Paul Donaghy.

The new distribution arrangement coincides with the release of the Rockburn 2012 Pinot Noir in Australia which has to date amassed six gold medals.

2012 Pinot Noir: Gold – Cool Climate Awards Australia 2014, Gold – Decanter World Wine Awards 2014, Double Gold Medal – China Wine & Spirits Best Value Awards 2014, Blue-Gold & Top 100 – Sydney International Wine Competition 2014, Gold Medal – Easter Show Wine Awards 2014, Pure Gold – Romeo Bragato Awards 2013, 5 Stars – Winestate Magazine Nov/Dec 2013

Commenting on the appointment Paul Donaghy said: “This is a terrific partnership where our wines ideally compliment those of the Robert Oatley portfolio, by giving us true national reach, as well as giving us a strong presence through Hamilton Island (owned by Robert Oatley) Exciting times ahead!”

Robert Oatley Vineyards CEO Anthony Roberts noted: “We are very pleased to include Rockburn in our portfolio which is especially suited to the on-premise market, where premium pinot noir is enjoying terrific growth. “We look forward to working with the Rockburn team to promote their exciting and outstanding quality range of wines here in Australia.” ENDS
