NZ Pure Shop; a new opportunity for New Zealand exporters to sell more in China

Exporters of New Zealand-made products are being given a new opportunity to sell their goods to more people in China, with the official launch of NZ Pure Shop next Friday (7th June).

NZ Pure Shop is an e-commerce platform selling New Zealand-made products directly to China via, China’s leading B2C shopping destination for quality, brand-name goods. NZ Inc Shop is the exclusive agent for NZ Pure Shop.

NZ Inc Shop CEO York Zhang says there are already New Zealand products on, but having a New Zealand only e-shop, with verified Kiwi-made products is important for the China market.

“NZ Pure Shop’s launch on is a real boon for New Zealand businesses looking into the vast Chinese market,” Zhang says. “Chinese consumers want to know that they really are buying New Zealand products, and we can guarantee all products on NZ Pure Shop are Kiwi-made.”

NZ Inc Shop Chairman Aldo Miccio adds that New Zealand products are highly valued in China, and if we are to increase our country’s exports it is crucial to not only be in the Chinese marketplace, but in a place where consumers most trust their source, such as

A number of New Zealand businesses across a range of sectors have already signed up to sell their products on NZ Pure Shop, including Nelson Honey, NZ King Salmon, Sanitarium and Glendenings Shortbread.

“We have exported some of our biscuits to China in the past, but really saw the huge potential of selling our Nelsonmade biscuits on NZ Pure Shop. The number of people buying on is massive, and so we want to be a part of that,” says David Bell, Glendenings Shortbread.

“We have been selling our chilled Ōra King salmon into China for over a year now, and the next step is to explore the opportunity for our Cold Smoked Salmon products in China, as a delicious ready-to-eat option for the consumer. The 100% New Zealand-made focus of the NZ Pure Shop on is a great fit for introducing Ōra King online in a trusted environment, with the shop’s ability to guarantee our New Zealand origin to the Chinese consumer,” says Grant Rosewarne, CEO, New Zealand King Salmon.

Minister of Trade Hon. Tim Groser will speak at the NZ Pure Shop launch on Friday 7 June, and Director of NZ Chambers of Commerce and Industry Michael Barnett will emcee the event.

Mr Barnett says China is now New Zealand’s top export market with $2.3 billion exported annually.

“The scale of the Chinese market is hard for some businesses to comprehend,” says Barnett. “For example, is part of an e-commerce network with more than 500 million registered users. Compare this to New Zealand’s popular Trademe site that has 3.2 million users. Selling on-line directly to the Chinese consumer is a sensible option for many New Zealand exporters.”

There are still places available at the NZ Pure Launch for exporters interested in exploring the China market.
