The 2013 Census is on track to collect its five millionth census form today (a combination of individual and dwelling forms).

“Nearly 1.9 million forms have been completed online and so far more than three million paper forms have been collected,” General Manager for the 2013 Census Carol Slappendel said.

“Census collectors will continue door to door collection until this Sunday (17 March), so if you haven’t had your completed paper forms picked up yet there is still time.

“If you are not home when a census collector calls this weekend, a freepost envelope will be left at your home so you can mail it back to Statistics New Zealand.

“People can also still go online to complete their census forms.

After Sunday if you still have not completed your forms online, had your paper forms collected or an envelope delivered please call 0800 CENSUS (0800 236 787).

“Everyone who was in New Zealand on census night 5 March 2013 must complete a census form.

“The information from the 2013 Census will be used to make important decisions in health, education, transport and the Christchurch rebuild, so it’s vital people take part.”

If you have not received an Internet Access Code and paper forms contact 0800 CENSUS (0800 236 787) as soon as possible.
