Australian Market Report
Monday 25 February – Strong gains in early trading were reined in by disappointing manufacturing data out of China, putting a damper on the materials sector. However, the disheartening report was not enough to quell investors’ spirit entirely. Consumer discretionary and consumer staples delivered impressive performance, with telcos, financials, and energy not too far behind.
