		<description><![CDATA[He was a fool to believe that coal mining could ever be environmentally benign.  He did significant damage in his stated belief in carbon capture &amp; storage.  It&#039;s a fairy story and he tried to use it as a business proposition.  On the other hand, he was (gently) looking at diversifying beyond coal.  But for SE to fail to make a profit from wood pellets beggars belief - the raw material is free and SE had a monopoly in a growth market here in ChCh.

When he was appointed, the Board was trying to wind up SE, but he bullied his way to expansion instead.  He has the consequences of all that carbon dioxide on his conscience in his retirement.]]></description>
