LAKE WANAKA (8 November 2012) – Lake Wanaka is taking advantage of the national Conference and Incentive New Zealand (CINZ) conference in neighbouring Queenstown to advance its reputation as a quality destination for conference and incentive groups providing unique experiences for national and international delegates.

CINZ delegates will experience a three-day familiarization trip to Lake Wanaka to visit venues and attractions first hand as well as experience the culture and spectacular setting the town has to offer.
The visit coincides with the launch of Lake Wanaka Tourism’s new Conference and Incentive brochure that highlights the town’s versatile and comprehensive facilities for business events of any size – from smaller meetings and business events to incentive travel and conferences up to 250 people – and the inspirational landscapes they are set in.

Lake Wanaka has hosted a number of successful conferences recently including the Chambers of Commerce National Conference, New Zealand Snow Industry Federation Trade Show (NZSIF) and the Deer Industry National Conference.

Leeann Watson, general manager, Canterbury Employers’ Chamber of Commerce said, “The 2012 NZ Chambers of Commerce Conference held in Wanaka was absolutely stunning. The tranquil, yet dynamic location, provided inspiration, time to reflect and a range of exciting things to do and see. The Wanaka scenery, tourist attractions, food and wine and people were welcoming and spectacular and showcased the very special paradise we now know as Wanaka”.

James Helmore, general manager of Lake Wanaka Tourism, said raising the profile of Lake Wanaka as a conference, business events and incentive destination is one of the region’s key strategies. “Part of LWT’s strategy is to bring additional business to Wanaka during off-peak/shoulder seasons and to diversify Wanaka’s product offering at a time when traditional tourism markets are under pressure. We have an excellent selection of venues, attractions and hosts to provide a first class setting to motivate, inspire and innovate delegates,” he said.
