The Defence Force has released a further stage of houses for removal from Waiouru due to popular demand. The most recent stage of 15 houses all sold at tender for an average price of $32,750 and top dollar of $45,500. A new offering of 15 houses is being marketed by Land Matters and are of similar solid 1950’s era construction perfect for renovation. Sam Pritchard from Land Matters says previous purchasers have been very happy with the quality, adaptability and price paid for such solid wooden framed houses.

The recent sales have taken the total number of houses sold at Waiouru to 64 as part of the Housing Rationalisation Programme which is focused on the disposal of older housing stock in order to reduce maintenance costs.
